In the evening a social and dance was held, which was much enjoyed by all present.
A social and dance took place at Karoola Hall ,on Friday. Mr. A. Barrett presided, and the following took part in the programme:---Song, Miss Marion Barrett; pianoforte duet, Misses Vida and Grace Barrett; song, Miss Vida Barrett; comic reading, Mr. F. Kerkham; Grace Barrett; skipping song, Redmyre school children; pianoforte solo, Miss Vida Barrett; action song, Redmyre school children.
The many friends of Mr. Thomas Wright will be sorry to hear that he has been suffering with a severe illness during the past three months. Mr. Wright also had the misfortune of losing a valuable draught horse a few days ago.
A harvest thanksgiving service was held in the Wesleyan Church on Sunday last, Mr. Kerslake, of Launceston, preached in the afternoon, and Mr. Kerkham in the evening, to large congregations.
Mr. Kayser, late of West Coast, has purchased Mr. Chung Con's property. Mr. Kayser is spoken very highly of by those who are employed by him. Mr. Bye, late of West Australia, has purchased Miss Taylor's property, and Mr. Kelly has also purchased the property formerly occupied by Mr. Rolls. Mr. Kelly intends going in for dairying on a large scale.
