WOMAN'S WORLD
ABOUT WOMEN
The funeral of the late Mrs. J. J. Miller, senr., whose death took place at the residence of her son, Mr. Arthur Miller, at Lilydale, on Sunday, was largely attended on Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Miller was the last of the very early pioneers who settled on what is now known as Doak's Road. Coming into the district when it was almost impenetrable scrub, and roads almost unknown, Mrs. Miller did her full share of the strenuous work of those times.
The service was conducted by the Rev. S. Drewltt (Anglican) and Mr. Baker (Presbyterian). The chief mourners were the five sons and daughter (Messrs. Walter, Arthur, Oswald, Theodore, and Louis Miller, and Mrs. H. Thomas).
