I just discovered this fascinating article from 1909 which will be of interest especially to members of the Wilson family, the Saddingtons who now reside at Maxwellton Braes and also local historians. It's quite inspiring how James Wilson took a scientific approach to crop and livestock farming on such a small farm by today's standards. I guess he was the model for his nephews Jack and Bill Wilson (the second) to go into agricultural science. It reminds me also of praise for the Arnolds of Wade's Farm and their scientific dairy enterprise and natural resource management REF).
Cheers, Phil
