LAUNCESTON. The late Mr. Seth Shepherd, or 7 Merivale st., South Launceston, who died on Thursday, was born in St. Albinia, England, and at an early age went to South Africa with his parents. Later he came to Tasmania and settled in Wyena. For some years he was in Lilydale and later in the Hagley district, before coming to Launceston in 1930 with his late wife, formerly Miss Janet Wilson, of North Lilydale, and his family.
Throughout his life he was closely associated with the Presbyterian Church, and was a teacher and superintendent of the Sunday school in Hagley. In Launceston he was actively associated with St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, of which he was an elder for many years.
He leaves a family of four daughters and three sons. He is also survived by a brother, Mr. Harry Shepherd, Westbury, and three sisters, Mrs. W. Seddon (South Africa), Mrs. E.
