The Underwood ladies played splendidly. Special mention must be made of Misses Lizzie and Katie Box, who made 58 out of the 100 runs, and took all the wickets in the first innings of Lilydale. Though Underwood scored such a great victory, Lilydale fought a hard uphill game, and shaped well, considering that about a month ago none of them knew anything about cricket.
When the stumps were drawn all made their way over to Mr. F. Proctor's for tea. Captain Box, on behalf of the Underwood team, thanked Lilydale for their hospital ity, andt trusted they would soon have the pleasure of meeting them on their ground at Underwood, when she hoped another enjoyable aftenoon's sport would result. She then called for three cheers for the Lilydale team. Captain Arnold, on behalf of Lilydale, said they had spent a most enjoyable day. They were sorry they were defeated, but hoped if they ever met Underwood again they would be able to score a victory. Cheers were then given for the visitors. A social, which was held in the Military Hall, brought an enjoyable day to a close.
